MODEL FLYING before 1950. Volume One CD-rom
Contents: * Model Flying Machines - their design and construction, by W.G.Aston (1910). The complete book in facsimile - one of the very earliest books on model aviation, by one of the most active modelmakers and flyers of the period.
* Articles and letters about model aircraft, from Flight magazine, 1909, with photographs. Model flyers at Olympia, competitions, and much more.
* More articles and letters from the early days, featured in the Aero, January-June 1910, with many photographs. Fascinating descriptions of gliders, petrol-engine powered models, and 'elastic' (!) powered aeroplanes, in the days of silk and spruce.
* How to build and fly a Vought Corsair. 16-page booklet with plans, New York c.1930. A charming plan from a period where dowel and bamboo were still being extensively used for contruction, along with the new wonder material, balsa. * Model Aircraft Builder, Vol. 1 No.1, April 1936. A facsimile of the complete magazine, with great period advertisements, construction articles and plans. An interesting if short-lived periodical.
* Halfax flying models and accessories for the connoiseur. An illustrated 17-page catalogue from c.1950.
Fine quality reproductions of all of the above are included on this CD-rom, which is the first of a series.
